| Entry Date: September 1997 Source: Obituary from The Lincoln Star Newspaper, Lincoln, Lancaster County, NE, USA Saturday, July 26, 1925 Former Resident of Lincoln is Called (Special to The Star) Wymore, Neb., July 25 - Mrs. Laura Gugler, 42 years old, wife of Henry C. Gugler, master mechanic of the Wymore division of the Burlington railway, a resident of Wymore for the past three years, died at her home late Thursday night, following an illness of six months. She was a member of the Trinity Methodist church and of Temple chapter No. 148, Order Eastern Star, of Lincoln. The family resided at 2761 Cable street, Lincoln, for eight years. Larson was born December 29, 1882, departed from this life, July 23, 1925, aged 42 years, 7 months, and 25 days. She was married to H. C. Gugler, September 11, 1906. To this union one son, Theodore, was born. She was a most patient sufferer, her affliction beginning early in March. After several weeks at home, she was taken to Lincoln for treatment hoping to find a cure for her illness. When Lincoln doctors suggested taking her to a Western climate, her spirits rose again with the expectation of being back to her home and loved ones. After several weeks of treatment at Brush, Colo., she returned home in a much weaker condition but still hopeful. Her suffering will never be known to any except the loved ones that administered to her during her last days. Even in all her suffering she was forgetful of self and thoughts only of the comfort of others just as she had done through life. Nothing was left undone by her devoted husband and son to relieve and comfort their loved one. Mrs. Gugler was a member of Trinity Methodist church and Temple Chapter O. E. S. No. 148 of Lincoln. She leaves to mourn her going, her husband, son, two sisters, one brother and a host of friends. Funeral services were held in the Methodist Church, Wymore, Nebr., July 25, conducted by Rev. D. A. McCullough, minister of the church. The body was taken to Omaha for burial.
